Suddenly, the wall flipped over revealing a map of the world with beacons on all the cities and countries while a couple of the kids laughed, impressed. Claus asked before giving a knock on the wall. It requires some assembly and takes up useful floor space, but it doesn’t mount onto a wall or ceiling, cutting down on installation time.įactors To Consider Before Buying Garage Shelvesīefore choosing a shelving unit for your garage, consider how much storage space you need, how much room in your garage you have, and how much time you want to spend on installation. This type of shelving unit looks similar to a bookcase or cabinet without doors. However, assembly is more difficult than it is with wall-mounted units. This type of shelving saves more space than a wall-mounted unit because it uses ceiling space that wouldn’t normally be used for storage. Ceiling-MountedĬeiling-mounted shelves have brackets that are drilled into your garage’s ceiling studs. ![]() One benefit of a wall-mounted unit is that it doesn’t take up floor space, but it does require more assembly than other types of garage storage shelving. These were the levels with a horde of enemies all at once. I did get stuck on a couple of them, but trying a few different strategies I finally passed them. I generally give a game a try if it has a format similar to Zelda and other games as they usually are enjoyable. While playing Beneath the Lighthouse there kept being advertisements for games, so instead of checking out each one I went and saw what there was so I could quickly get past the screen each time it came up. This game was one of the more enjoyable Nitrome games I have played in years. While there's even more content planned, what's on the plate right now is pretty darned tasty, and don't be surprised if Rust Bucket has you coming back for seconds. Rust Bucket costs you nothing to try out, and is the sort of smart puzzle game that shows exactly why Nitrome has been at the top of the game for so long. ![]() Rust Bucket does display ads intermittently between levels or occasionally when restarting, but it's not obnoxious, and hey, if you don't like them and want to support a great developer in one fell swoop, you can pay a small fee to remove them forever. though, being a Nitrome game, it's easy on the eyes anyway. It's not necessarily overflowing with mechanics like some adorable pixelated horn of plenty, but it knows how to work with what it has to its smartest advantage rather than tarting it up with bells and whistles. Though it starts out easy, the complexity added by switches that need to be weighed down, for example, or enemies with specific movement patterns, keeps your brain working throughout. The lack of an undo function for your last move is a little frustrating since miss-swiping can be a problem if you don't swipe carefully and precisely. It's fun, but it lacks the precision level design of the tutorial stages, though Nitrome plan to bring more handmade puzzle levels in later on. Levels are randomly generated past the tutorial, with the goal of passing as many as you can before you get the big KO. ![]() Successfully navigating your way through each level comes down to paying attention to the way enemies and traps move and planning each swipe you make, and figuring out each scenario is pretty darned satisfying. In Rust Bucket, the basic concept stays the same (little red knight, turn-based, stab-stab-stabby), but things have been expanded to incorporate more strategy and puzzling. If Rust Bucket looks familiar, you probably played Nitrome's itty-bitty Turnament from 2012. Throw in locked doors, peasants in peril, fire traps and more, and you have a simple but addictive and strategic puzzle game that fits in your pocket. But, if you can use the terrain to your advantage and make them come to you, you'll be able to strike them down instead. If you move into a square within range of an enemy during the same turn, they'll smite you in an instant. See, Rust Bucket is turn-based, and when you move, so do enemies. The game has a handful of fun and well-designed tutorial stages to walk you through the finer points, but the basics come down to swiping up, down, left, or right to move a single space in that direction, and planning your movements so that you don't get swatted. Our hero, a tiny horned helmet, is out to rid the world of badness, one swipe at a time, for as long as you can last in Endless Mode moving from room to room. How does a helmet with no visible extremities of any kind move and wield a sword? You might call it magic, but I call it Nitrome, and they call their free iOS and Android turn-based puzzle game Rust Bucket. ![]() ![]() As of version 3.0, the software has been optimized to send GCode to a Grbl Arduino Shield, which is the standard and default controller type for the ShapeOko. ![]() ![]() This added another layer to the delicate dance of boss fights, as finding a moment to repair was just as important as backing off to heal in the short windows between lethal attacks. Your weapon durability will degrade faster than you might expect between resting at checkpoints, but Pinocchio has the ability to turn his left arm into a whetstone to restore lost durability - making you incredibly vulnerable in the process. Equally unnerving and unpredictable, they put my abilities to the test in understanding their attack patterns, and I ended up with an appreciation of how Lies of P handles weapon degradation. ![]() Though the demo only included two main bosses, each of them were tough and satisfying in their own right, and left me hungry for more. So far, it feels like Lies of P is mixing these features in a way that hasn’t made things too convoluted, though I’m not sure adding equipment load to the mix was the right move when dodging already feels very tricky to get the hang of. Lies of P also seems to favor slightly faster-paced combat that draws close to Bloodborne (although stopping to parry feels essential), and even borrows the ability to recover health lost by pressing the attack. Each of the main-hand weapons I found had their own special “arts” which reminded me of the weapon arts from Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring. There’s a prosthetic arm you can swap out with different modifications reminiscent of Sekiro, giving me the choice between utility and power in limited doses. More than once I found myself stopping to stare at the carnage and ask, “What the hell happened here?”, which I remember doing quite often while exploring in Bloodborne.īeyond its creepy setting, Lies of P also functions as a well-realized action-RPG that almost seems to encapsulate a “greatest hits” of mechanics found in From Software’s staples. I enjoyed taking my time exploring the city’s various alleys, courtyards, and broken interiors that juxtaposed nicely with the still shining and spotless Hotel Krat, which serves as your main base of sorts to return to and level up. ![]() Bodies are piled everywhere, seemingly due to both the savagery of the puppet uprising as well as some mysterious plague that’s hinted at a few times. So far, Krat has done a pretty good impression of Bloodborne's Yharnam - and even hints of Bioshock’s Rapture - as an unnerving (yet graphically impressive) depiction of a once-prosperous and decadent utopia fallen into ruin and slathered in gore. ![]() ![]() ![]() Through the gruff and scruff of the series’ back half, his agony was constantly, cruelly, and unfairly prolonged – to the point that the men who were hired to kill him converted the job into an acquisition of slave labor. The problem is Gilligan made a film to create closure for those who wanted it, but I’m not sure this movie does that for that fevering fanbase of the series it may create that sense for just himself or Paul.It wasn’t until a final howl of hope shot off the tortured face of Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) that you really understood how bad he had it in Breaking Bad. If that cage Pinkman was held in was his purgatory, he may have paid for his previous sins, since the last act of El Camino reminded me of a famous Robert Frost poem, while symbolizing a sense of closure for a character that you may feel has been redeemed. The upshot, while entertaining, has the narrative stuck spinning its wheels in the familiar territory, and reminds us how far superior the show actually was.īreaking Bad had always been a literal series, but the end of the film (and the finale) is steeped in imagery. ![]() The problem is the script feels like not just an extension of the series finale, but a rehashing of what we already assumed was happening. The first act, surprisingly, is the slowest part of the film, and it starts to pick up when a series of layered flashbacks have been folded into the story to create a greater understanding of Paul’s character’s inner turmoil and to, again, establish why we should care about his future. So I won’t go into a detailed summary to make sure this is as spoiler-free as possible, and I will just tell you the film is heavily invested in the enjoyment of past characters that pop up in the film from the series. ![]() It’s a hard film to enjoy with the tiniest of spoilers. Many, though, will point to the fact that there are so many remakes or reboots in Hollywood because there are simply no original ideas left in the world (or studio heads will throw money at sure things like proven winners who are always good investments). Now, don’t get me wrong, there are several strong moments in El Camino. So, which one exactly is it? It feels like a little of both, like an indulgence, and like anything that tends to satisfy a craving, you may regret it later.
